With every New Year comes a set of resolutions. This years are not too different from last year, with some minor adjustments. Running has been replaced with walking. Perhaps I will run again, however my times are not as big a concern for me anymore. Achilles pain has not subsided at all in almost 5 years and I think walking is probably the best I can truly concentrate on.
In the coming days I will comment on last year and how well I achieved the previous set of goals.
This year’s resolutions.
1. I will continue to be a Happier Person and continue to follow in the advice from The Happiest Life, Happiness is a Serious Problem.
2. When I return home from Korea I will continue to spend more time with family, and continue to build on my relationship with them.
3. I will resume my Church attendance, and work within a small group.
4. As I should no longer be running, I will continue working on my walk time. Currently I am averaging 13:40 minute miles I will strive to reduce that time by a minute. I will achieve a minimum of 450 miles miles between January 1 and February 28. These miles will use the old Cross Country rule (Swimming 1:1, Elliptical is 1:1, Bike is 4:1, Rower is 1.5:1). Thankfully while I cannot run as fast as I would like, my bike, rowing machine, and swim times are still quite fast. I’m logging all of my miles over at Runkeeper, and Garmin, in addition to my jawbone up (at least as long as Jawbone continues to work, if it fails I will purchase a fitbit) if you are a personal friend of mine I will let you track this with me.
5. I will continue to read more,
6. I will continue to do pushups on my own daily. Right now I am doing 200 per day.
7. I will continue to read the Bible regularly. I have started a devotional and when I am complete I will move on to another one.
8. At this time I have 8 classes left in my MBA, my goal is to graduate next year in the spring.
Continuing on the Long term goals.
1. I will continue to work on my MBA.
2. I will go back for a second masters in Foreign or Public Policy.
3. I will eventually go back for a Doctorate: Business, Law, Philosophy, or Statesmanship. Will see based on the outcome of forks life gives me.
4. Retire, and from there just keep working.
5. Pay off the last of my debt, I made a great goal with that last year I aim to be credit free minus student loans and Car payment and mortgage by the end of 2019. Maybe even down to just Student loans and Mortgage by then.
7. I sill want to donate between $500K and $1 Million over the course of my life. I guess I really should start keeping track of what I am donating every year.
8. Start up or become heavily involved in a non for profit.
