Lifehacker recently posted on their page a
cheap diy iPhone 5 charging dock. I don’t have an iPhone nor do I ever plan on having one, but I’m pretty sure this could be applied to any number of other phones such as my Motorola Razr hd.
I checked out the Daily Brick’s page. In addition to the iPhone5 they also have a kit for the iPad and iPad mini.
I might have to order one of these for my father.

First and foremost, Patrick is a fallen being far from perfect in just about every way. Saved by Christ more than a decade ago, his life has been transformed.
